Blues Boy Kings are a highly entertaining and energetic blues rock power trio hailing from Lincoln in the East Midlands, UK. Formed in 2010, the band is built around the musical and personal nucleus of husband-and-wife duo Jase and Sam. Together, they have spent over a decade and a half carving out a reputation for dynamic, high-octane performances and a deep catalog of original music that spans three studio albums and two EPs.
From the very beginning, Blues Boy Kings have attracted and collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the blues rock scene. Their self-titled 2010 debut album set a high standard, featuring the groove of Phil Aldridge on Hammond organ and powerhouse drummer Mark Barrett (The Hoax, Nimmo Brothers). As their musical journey progressed, so did their network of elite collaborators. Their sophomore album, Second Time Around, showcased an expanded sonic palette of original material supported by Dave Taylor on saxophone, Steve Gooding on keyboards, and Dave Hunt on harmonica.
For their third studio album, Jase and Sam teamed up with esteemed drummer Dave Raeburn, whose impressive resume includes stints with The Hoax, King King, Danny Bryant, Top Topham, and Phil Guy (brother of Buddy Guy). The band's fiery chemistry and Jase's blistering guitar work from this era are perfectly captured in the official music video for their standout track, "Play My Axes."
Now in 2026, Blues Boy Kings have evolved into their most potent and streamlined form yet. Operating primarily as a devastatingly powerful trio, Sam and Jase are joined on drums by the legendary Jeff Rich. For select shows, the lineup expands to a four-piece with the addition of Jase’s cousin, Rich Taylor, on rhythm guitar, adding an extra layer of grit to their live sound.
Constantly on the move, the band continues to bring their infectious energy to stages worldwide. Alongside their regular UK festival and club circuits, 2026 sees Blues Boy Kings returning by popular demand for international tours across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and The Netherlands. Whether playing to an intimate club or a festival crowd, Blues Boy Kings deliver a masterclass in modern blues rock
